Aquamarine Fukushima
いわき市, 福島県
Address: 50 Tatsumicho, Onahama, Iwaki, Fukushima, Japan
Aquamarine Fukushima stands on the waterfront of Onahama Port in Iwaki City and is built around the idea of an environmental aquarium. Centered on Fukushima's offshore ocean front where the Kuroshio and Oyashio currents meet, it displays more than 800 species across marine, river, and coastal environments under a distinctive glass-roofed structure filled with natural light. Its signature large tank 'Shiome no Umi' interprets the local oceanic front in a way that feels both dramatic and educational. Hands-on experiences such as Janome Beach, fishing programs, and backstage tours give the aquarium a wider family appeal than a tank-only visit.
