Address: 1-6 Takeshimacho, Gamagori, Aichi, Japan
Takeshima Aquarium, on the waterfront in Gamagori, is a compact but character-rich aquarium known for its deep-sea focus. The aquarium displays around 500 species and roughly 4,500 animals in total, while its deep-sea collection is promoted as one of the strongest in Japan. A major recent highlight is the 'Deep-Sea Great Tank,' a roughly 120-ton display centered on Japanese spider crabs and a deep-sea fault-inspired layout.
