Izu Mito Sea Paradise

Numazu, Shizuoka

Address: 3 Uchiura Nagahama, Numazu, Shizuoka, Japan

Affectionately known as 'Mito-C,' Izu Mito Sea Paradise is a long-running aquarium on the coast of Suruga Bay in Numazu, Shizuoka. On clear days Mt. Fuji appears behind the dolphin show, but the aquarium's appeal goes further: visitors can explore the penguin walkthrough 'Penpara,' the deep-sea tank 'DON Bottom,' and the hands-on learning area 'Mito Sea Lab.' With around 300 species on display and a family-friendly layout, it works well both as a sightseeing stop in Izu and as a relaxed day out.
