Numazu Deep Sea Aquarium

Located right beside Numazu Port in Shizuoka, Numazu Deep Sea Aquarium is a rare specialist aquarium focused on the deep sea. It displays more than 100 deep-sea species from Suruga Bay and beyond, and its signature attraction is a set of two frozen coelacanth specimens and three taxidermy specimens exhibited in the Coelacanth Museum. Other highlights include giant isopods, frilled sharks, a taxidermy megamouth shark, and the immersive area 'Immersive Deep Sea World,' which opened in 2025.
