Shimoda Aquarium is one of Japan's most distinctive aquariums thanks to its use of a natural cove in Shimoda Bay. Rather than feeling like a sealed indoor attraction, it combines open water, dolphin programs, a floating aquarium dome, and a relaxed seaside atmosphere that makes the entire visit feel rooted in the Izu coast.
