Sunshine Aquarium

Toshima Ward, Tokyo

Address: Sunshine City World Import Mart Building Rooftop, 3-1 Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, Tokyo, Japan

Sunshine Aquarium sits on the rooftop of Sunshine City's World Import Mart Building in Ikebukuro and is known as Japan's first urban high-rise aquarium. Built around the concept of an 'oasis in the sky,' it combines the famous 'Penguins in the Sky' exhibit, a roughly 14-meter-wide jellyfish panorama, and the open-air Marine Garden into one of Tokyo's most distinctive city aquarium experiences. Its easy access from both Ikebukuro Station and Higashi-Ikebukuro Station makes it especially convenient for sightseeing days.
