Wakayama Prefectural Museum of Natural History combines an aquarium-style first exhibition room with a second room of specimens and models. The first room displays about 450 species and 3,000 water creatures, and the museum as a whole features more than 100 aquariums, around 6,000 water creatures across 550 species, and about 2,000 specimens. It is a compact place where you can enjoy both aquarium and museum experiences at once.

From JR Kainan Station, take the bus bound for Wakayama City for about 10 minutes and get off at Kotonoura Bus Stop. From JR Wakayama Station or Nankai Wakayama-shi Station, take the bus bound for Kainan City for about 30 minutes and get off at Kotonoura Bus Stop.
